Speeding: Handle a Traffic Stop and Avoid Your Ticket: I can personally vouch for most of these. Some are new, and should be interesting for the next time. But the most important one is turn on all your interior light. There is nothing like making the office feel safe.

The popular parts of the library such as the first floor of the stacks, and the entire information commons building, I’ve tried, and failed many time to work in. It has too many familiar faces, too many buzzing printers, and too much commotion. In an attempt to study somewhere other then my desk which has [...]

The idea is that you pledge an amount of money for each anti-abortion protestor that shows up outside of the PP health center. “We will place a sign outside the health center that tracks pledges and makes protesters fully aware that their actions are benefiting PPSP”. That is absolutely brilliant. (read more)

A few months ago I watched a rerun of perhaps the most moving episodes of the West Wing, “20 Hours in America”, in which a pipe bomb kills 44 students at a Midwest University. Martin Sheen, playing President Bartlett gives the following speech: More than any time in recent history, America’s destiny is not of [...]

Lately I’ve been noticing these stickers on vehicles all over the place. For a while I didn’t pay much attention to them, for I assumed they were advertisements for W Hotels. It wasn’t until seeing one up close that I realized they were actually a clever, and in my mind groundbreaking political ad for George [...]

Yes, run. Not drive, or bike, or get towed. Running. Recently a guy beat the world record for running the most miles in a single day. He collapsed 8 minutes before 24 hours, and had 1/3 mile left to beat the record. Got himself up and beat the record by 5/16th of a mile. 154 [...]

A client of mine made this font and image. Most of them (75%) were completely drawn from scratch using MS Paint, and the remainders were images scanned in and colored in MS Paint. I think its amazing work. Those of you who are interested in art will probably appreciate it also. http://photo.askthefool.com/font Again all the [...]

Even though it’s literally down the street from me, I ate there with a friend tonight for the first time. Good food, they make it right in front of you, and definitely worth paying a buck or two more then you pay for Taco Bell. I also thought it was pretty nicely decorated for a [...]

I was helping my brother with math yesterday and while looking his book, I found that I had trouble understanding the wording of their explanations even after passing multi-var calc. I clearly remember when I was actually taking the same class and every single one of my other math classes that I had trouble understanding [...]

Unlike the weblog entries, the photoBlog pictures don’t get listed by archives or anything. So if you check infrequently you may miss a picture or two, so checking back using the previous link until you see something you’ve already seen is recommended. I still have 10-15 of trip pictures to put up here, so don’t [...]

“A programmer once built a vast database containing all the literature, facts, figures, and data in the world. Then he built an advanced querying system that linked that knowledge together, allowing him to wander through the database at will. Satisfied and pleased, he sat down before his computer to enjoy the fruits of his labor. [...]

I’ve been following George Hincapie’s blog since the Tour De France started. Just some place to go to get some non-reporter style photographs of Lance Armstrong and the rest of the US Postal Service team. Who says famous people don’t blog? Its the new thing.

I had a discussion about something with a friend and she made the statement that politics, and specifically Saddam Huessien doesn’t effect her. Yes, there is nothing you can do about it so that may be a justification of not following it or being ignorant about it, but claiming that it has no effect on [...]
