Ignorance

The true nature of people is something that you wish you didn’t know, because you liked someone for what you saw them to be, not what they were. Sometimes ignorance is bliss to me even though its contradictory to my philosophy of life.

Paintballing!

Steve and Jerry are organizing another paintball event, either at SC Village or Jungle Island. Even though I’m unsure if I can make it, I’m posting the link here to sign up as this blog is read by people from UNI. If you don’t go to UNI or live in Irvine, don’t be an ass [...]

Nobody cares

The point of a blog isn’t to document every single time you take a shit and brush your teeth. More and more bloggers are turning into people who post hundreds of webcam pictures everywhere, 2 gigs worth of text documenting every single time they ate something all written in extremely stylish, yet impossible to read [...]

“Mock-Dynamic”

Back when I really got started with this whole Web mess, I learned how to build database-backed websites. However, it was always assumed that these sites would be built by having a bunch of code on the server which generated pages for the user on demand by calling the database. That was simply how such [...]

Lacking

Isn’t it sad in our country that millions watch the Superbowl, but not even half that number watch the State of the Union address? Yesterday I told a guy in my class, ‘I hope we get out of class early, so I can get home and watch the State of the Union address’. He asked [...]

Sorta New

I didn’t like my other layout too much, mainly because it was very messy and not exactly browser friendly (which I realized after looking at it on a mac). This should be a bit nicer, and easier to read hopefully. Not exactly eye candy but it’ll do for now. And now a search engine!

The Point

I bet people think I’m rude when I get straight to the point. I do it more often then not, when I call someone and their parents or siblings pick up the phone, I don’t even bother to talk to them I just ask for who(what)ever I’m calling about. I hate when people beat around [...]

Finger Memory

Odd, but after using something like if(expression) so many times, even when I write it now I always put a parentheses after the if, even where it doesn’t need to be. Like in math, If f(x)=, I always put If( and then erase and correct it. Finger memory? Not sure.

Moving Target

I just saw a UPS truck with a letter slot on the side of it. Turning a fleet of trucks into thousands of mobile drop-off spots, that’s pretty smart. In theory. In reality, I wonder how many people ever use them, considering no one knows where the truck is going to be and when.

Paintballing Pictures

Tons of fun. Quite sore, but definetly worth it. Props mainly to Jerry for organizing it. Note on pictures: I’m not in any, and I didn’t take too many this time. No pictures on the actual field because I’m hesitant to take a camera out there.

Your vote dosen’t count!

People often urge others vote, apparently on the grounds that “every vote counts.” If that is supposed to mean that you have a reason to vote because your vote “makes a difference,” then that is wrong. In typical (large) elections, your participation (or nonparticipation) will make no difference to the outcome. Your vote “counts” only [...]

West Wing

Really one of the best, if not the best show on TV. Not only is it fast paced, highly humorous, but also it’s quite interesting. I hate slow shows where the humor hits you in the face causing it lose most of its effect (ex. Friends). The West Wing has humor that is subtle and [...]

Monks Eat Hot Dogs?

Q: “What does the Zen Buddhist monk say to the hot dog vendor?” A: “Make me one with everything.” So, the hot dog vendor makes him the hot dog. The monk gives him a $20 bill. The vendor puts it in his cash drawer and closes the drawer. The monk says, “Where’s my change?” The [...]

What is a “C”?

You and a bunch of friend are out somewhere, and the rest of the group tries to set you up with another girl/guy. They are likeable, good-looking, fun to be around, basically there is nothing wrong with them. But still you don’t want to get together with them. It just doesn’t float. It’s the minimum, [...]
